People

Artistic Director: Martina Potratz is a Swiss performer, writer and theater producer based in Queens. With her theater company Lil’ Explosions she creates work that is not necessarily written for traditional theater spaces, examining different forms of audience immersion and embedding. Her plays include IN THE BLUE HOUR (NYC 2018); A SITCOM FOR THE APOCALYPSE: Episode 1 & 2 (Snowballs Festival). Several of her short plays premiered at Intar Theatre’s One Minute Play Festival 2015-2018.

After moving to New York in 2008 and interning with the Wooster Group, she started performing and creating Drama-Desk nominated work with the International WOW Company. This led to parts in new plays all over the city, uptown and downtown, and frequent international collaborations with award-winning visual artists. Martina is an inaugural member of Intar Theatre's resident acting company Unit 52, which was invited to the Encuentro 2014 in Los Angeles, the largest Latinx theater festival in the US.
